His Glory Fills the Sky

On the Arapiuns River, butterflies flutter by
They dance over the waters, and fill the sky
In the village of Sao Miguel, they radiate God's glory
They surround us as we listen, to the pastor's story

An illness left him paralyzed, for over a year
God humbled him and sent, an angel near
He touched the man's legs, and they were healed
Then a butterfly annointed him, and with the Spirit he was sealed

His glory fills the sky
His presence in this place (2x)

His glory fills the sky
May you receive God's grace

As a caterpillar is transformed, into a beautiful butterfly
We are reminded, of how You change our lives
Glory to Your name, for the work You've done
We pray that You will renew, more lives in the Amazon

His glory fills the sky
His presence in this place (2x)

His glory fills the sky
May you receive God's grace...

:) is this the one you girls wrote in Brazil.

Julianne said...

R.C.: Yes, Abby and I wrote this while we were in Brazil.

Jason: I'd love to hear about it.

Hey, nice new profile pic. Thats a pretty sweet wave. Where did you take it, emigrant lake?

Julianne said...

Yup, that's the closest I'm going to get to surfing for a long time...

:~)

Truth and Zeal said...

Surf is always good down here, even in winter. However, the waves are just a little bit bigger. :)

carson said...

That was sure some good cake, just ask Nate.

Julianne said...

Dan (T&Z): I'll be surfing as much as possible there if I go to Master's. :~)

Carson: You saved me a piece, right? :~)

Truth and Zeal said...

Class and then surf...

Yeah, you'd fit right in at TMC. :)

However, Master's is not really close to any beaches (meaning you'll have to do some driving), but I don't think that will hinder you from surfing. :D

carson said...

Just had a piece for breakfast, fear not i didn't eat all of it.

stephen said...

I'm thinking of doing some surfing this month. A bud of mine at school goes every couple months to Crescent City to surf. I think it would be awesome to go this summer and do some surfing and diving.

Amen to that!

Jason: I think the more important question is why hasn't Julianne posted anything? It's been four whole days! I may just end up posting something random also. Perhaps, she needs some accountability? :D

Julianne: (Tick Tock Tick Tock) Awaiting for your next inspiring and encouraging entry. :)

Brian Sporer said...

POST SOMETHING ELSE!

Truth and Zeal said...

zzzzZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz...........*yawn*.......zzzzZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz

:D

Brian Sporer said...

Or write a new song and post that!

Frank Martens said...

I think you shoudl write a post of all the nicknames that have been given to you throughout your life :)

YUP!

Truth and Zeal said...

If I ship an "In-N-Out" burger to her by Next-Day delivery, perhaps she might post a new entry.

Truth and Zeal said...

Jason: You folks don't have Krispy Kreme Doughnuts either??? How do you folks... survive?...... *sigh*...... Time for y'all to start moving to California. :)

Nate said...

AHH! Krispy Kremes and In-N-Out two of my favs. That's about the only good thing happening in Cali.

Julianne,
At church (Grace) we sang "Soli Deo Gloria" and I thought of you. :-) I hope all is well. Drop me an email.
I'll be praying for your consideration of Masters- what a blessing! I hope all is well. You are in my thoughts a prayers.
God Bless
p.s. when you come down next let's grab an In N Out burger (if youre not sick of em) and chat!
w00t!

Truth and Zeal said...

Indeed, for many of us, "Soli Deo Gloria" has officially been associated with Julianne.

9digits: Be sure to include some Krispy Kreme Doughtnuts. :)

JULIANNE... lol... it's about time you come and visit. You should come Monday either to the 8am Romans class w/ Dr. Wong or the 10:40 Hebrews class w/ Dr. Street (I'll be in both). I'll be in the lunch room at right about 12 pm, but, if I know you're coming around 12:35, I may wait around for you and talk to some friends (try to spot me if you can). It'd be great to finally meet you! Hopefully I'll be seeing you soon (thanks for letting me know)...

Hello Matador.

We have to deal with comment verification.

Brian Sporer said...

Have you noticed that the verifications are getting longer and longer. I remember the days when they were only 4 or 5 letters

Brian Sporer said...

I have no idea what is going on at your blog. It was getting a little weird at the end of our conversation. It would not show your comments right away and such.

Brian Sporer said...

It is a subtle form of mind control. Every first letter is part of a sentence. It is telling everyone to buy more toothpaste.

Brian Sporer said...

That is what is messing me up too. I don't have the foggiest idea what is going on.

Brian Sporer said...

You should go crazy with it.

What am I going to say next?

Brian Sporer said...

Purple ducks fly at midnight.

Brian Sporer said...

You got that right.

Unfortunately I must cease this conversation and retire to the local center for higher learning.

It has been very pleasant Matador :-)

Hey, Julianne! Nice to finally meet you... hopefully, I'll be blogging again soon, by the way. You may not even have internet connection here on campus, but I meant to give you my cell number just in case you ever came around again (I'm not sure how long you're staying this week, so maybe I'll see you around some more as it is). In any case, just drop me an email if you want the number (my Master's email). Maybe this visit will be enough to persuade you to come here (assuming your units get transferred and everything). May God lead you to the light of TMC, as He seems to already be doing. ; ) (I know, I crack myself up) Thanks for stopping by class, and it was nice meeting your mom as well!

Truth and Zeal said...

Interesting how Brian and Matador are communicating through Julianne's blog (imagine all that spam in her e-mail inbox). :D Have you two thought about using AIM?

Adam: When she transfers, we'll finally be able to convert...err...persuade another soul to pre-mil, pre-trib., dispensationalism. 0:)

Anonymous said...

lol Dan... I don't know; I have a feeling Julianne can hold her own on those topics (I'm not entirely sure where I stand on all those, actually; I haven't yet studied eschatology in any sort of depth).

W. H. Conner said...

I sense more than one hopeful suitor on this blog carrying a wee flame for the beautiful Julianne...

W. H. Conner said...

(just giving you a hard time...lol...)

Truth and Zeal said...

Adam: We'll see... perhaps, this will require some fasting and prayer.

But you are correct. We should study it more in depth before taking a theological position. As Dr. John Frame had told his students at RTS, "Don't dismiss any of your teachers or classmates merely because they fail to reinforce your partisan prejudices. Keep an open mind, a teachable spirit."

Brian Sporer said...

truth and zeal

This is more fun:-)

stephen said...

Jul, maybe you should take your picture off this blog. It seems that this is the only reason some people read your blog. Hope to see you soon, cousin.

Anonymous said...

Steve... once again... no comment. Despite perhaps your own propensities, not everyone sees an other as an "option" (not my own quote). Of course, there may be a degree of truth to what you said.

*smiles and rolls eyes at Steve*

Brian Sporer said...

Boys I didn't understand a word you just said.

Truth and Zeal said...

Steve: She did replace the picture with that wave.

This blog is read much because of its thoughtful content. :)

W. H. Conner said...

Reformed,

I jokingly suggested that at least a few guys on this blog seem enamoured with more than Julianne's doctrinal insights (not me, I'm married to a beautiful girl, myself) and Steve responded with the notion that she may be so blindingly radiant that the only solution is to remove her pic from the blog so that those viewing it can focus on reformed theology instead of fleeting hopes of glorious marriage to the well-protected blog-host. This caused Adam to respond with the thought that perhaps not everyone sees each other as options for romance, regardless of Steve's own propensities, though Adam acknowledges that some here indeed may be smitten as a result of viewing her extra-symetrical visage.

W. H. Conner said...

Oh, and then Adam smiled and rolled his eyes at Steve...lol...

Truth and Zeal said...

W.H. Conner: and all the more... she will be reading every one of these commments. :)

Julianne: I hope you enjoyed your visit to TMC. It is really a great school.

Truth and Zeal said...

But I was kidding about the "pre-mil, pre-trib., dispensationalism" comment.

You may able to hold your own on that topic (like Adam said), but we'll see... :D

stephen said...

Wow....that really got out of hand. How about we just refrain from comments that mention anything about guys carrying "wee flames" for Julianne.

My bad about the profile pic. I saw her comments and thought she still had it up. That beach picture is just as bad, Juli! haha just kidding.

Truth and Zeal said...

Jules, I hope you're a good surfer... Last time I went, the waves were just a tad bit bigger than the one in that beach picture. This past winter, the waves here in Cali reached a good 6-7 feet.

W. H. Conner said...

Steve,

Will do, especially since I can tell that something about the subject bothers you, specifically.
We really were just joking, since, unless the frequenters of this blog live under proverbial stones, the very notion that a girl, Christian or otherwise, would have to remove a picture of her face from a blog to prevent men from thinking she's "too pretty" would be indicative of a fairly sick brand of narcissism (no reflection on Julianne intended).

stephen said...

w. h. conner-

Those were some pretty big words there. I know you didn't mean any harm from your comments. I would just rather you all refrain from talking about Juli in such a way. You're right, the subject does bother me. So why don't we keep strictly to comments that pertain to something other than Juli as a single woman and instead as a God-fearing smart-minded sister in Christ.

Anonymous said...

That's brilliant, Steve, since... um... you DID actually bring it up. Anyways, it is a very annoying a childish subject, so perhaps "we" should actually refrain from bringing it up again.

Julianne, we all love you as brothers in Christ... and we love your Theology. Let me know if you are ever around TMC again (even though I don't think you've actually left yet). Also, I'm really curious to hear what you thought about Dr. Thorsell.

I must say, though, I am still trying to figure out that whole dialogue between rc and matador. *scratches head*

Brian Sporer said...

Adam

I totally understand you not understanding. The conversations of geniuses can often be very hard to follow:-) Am I right Matador?

W. H. Conner said...

Steve,

Fair enough, though I think I used kind of regular-sized words, and I stand by the thought that a girl worrying about men being distracted by the beauty inherent in a picture of her face deserves a pitying chuckle, even if someone else convinces her of this. Moving on...

W. H. Conner said...

Julianne,

We're sorry, my friend. I hope our comments weren't at your expense, and that will be all that's posted on the subject...

stephen said...

Juli would be the last one to worry about that, conner....

Sorry, I won't bring it up again.

W. H. Conner said...

Steve,

I have no doubt that that's true...

Truth and Zeal said...

I think Steve is right, Jules would be the last one to worry about this matter. So, let's get back to my dispensationalism topic... j/k.

You think we can reach 100 comments by the end of today? Right now, were at 89 comments. Might be a new record for this blog.

Truth and Zeal said...

Well... 90 now... no... I guess 91 including this comment. Just nine more comments to go.

Brian Sporer said...

I couldn't have said it better myself Matador.

Anonymous said...

Incredible!

My life is forever changed. Thank you all. And, did you all know that matador has some pretty neat pictures and discussions too? Matador, even though you have some pretty neat pictures, I do appreciate your concern for the rest of us by leaving your face off. No, that's not a hockey reference. May we all follow your example.
