In a mens group I attend, we are going through a book titled "King Me". With the subtitle "What every son wants and needs from his father. So the book is primarily for father's, but it contains some good wisdom for all. On page 187 the author (Steve Farrar) writes "Solomon had a son by the name of Rehoboam. He could have named him Kramer. Or Seinfeld. Or even George. You see, like the characters on Seinfeld,Reoboam never grew up. At forty-one (1 Kings 14:21), he was still acting like he was in high school."
Perpetual adolescence is the curse of modern American culture. Everyone wants to be young instead of mature." Steve Farrar continues on page 189 " At an age when Jerry,Elaine,George, and Krammer should have been married and raising children, they are still hanging out in the coffee shop trying to figure what movie they want to go to that night. As Epstein observes about shows like Seinfeld and friends, " Growth and delopment aren't part of the deal. They are still, somehow, in spirit, locked in a high school of the mind, eating dry cereal, watching a vast quantity of television, hoping to make ecstatic sexual scores." That's the way life is when you're nineteen these days-and it's increasingly more the way life is when you're forty. But it's not much of a life."

...forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you." Phillippians 3:13b-15

..."whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Phillippians 4:8

Convicting, Daniel. I wonder if Piper ever watches Seinfeld???

One thing about Sienfeld is that even though it is so funny you still know that the four friends are losers. George most of all.

It is just supposed to be funny.

I love it reformed centurion, righteous sinner and now puritan belief all couldn't resist to comment on Seinfield.

I love the Soup Nazi episode. You see the Soup Nazi is like the Law from mount Sinai, for who can bare his yolk and keep his commands, He is to strict yet without him your soup is no good and there is no one to go to.

Luky we had "Seinfield" to come and conquer Him so that all the Soup is now Free.

...Jokes.... Please don't label me a heritic. Even Spurgeon smoked a cigar.
